I am running for mayor to provide a clear and positive message that departs from the negative and unrealistic policies of the current crop of candidates. I believe that Bridgeport’s future is dependent upon one central theme, attracting and building a strong business friendly environment. The result of this one action will be to provide an economic rebirth to the city providing meaningful jobs so that its citizens can advance culturally and spiritually. I will take positive action to bring property taxes to a level that is equal to or better than the cities and towns that border Bridgeport. My number one goal as mayor is to make Bridgeport competitive in order to attract new business and economic resources, which result in overall lower taxes and improved services.
Strong economic development begins with educated and skilled people; therefore, I will focus my attention on the Educational System to give our children the tools they need to take their places in the growth of our city and state economy. The future development of the City Of Bridgeport is so interrelated with the development of our children I will not accept failure in the Educational System.
I will work tirelessly to elevate the image of the City of Bridgeport to a level that other cities will strive to model. We will expect accountability from our elected officials and civil servants. Our business dealings will be conducted in a professional and ethical manner. Strong and effective policies and procedures that will streamline our government will be developed and implemented. With the goals of economic development, lower taxes, a results oriented school system, and an efficient, honest government, I will be setting a positive direction for a better quality of life for all of the citizens and neighbors now and far into the future.
What has been offered by politicians in the past and once again is currently being offered are unsustainable projects that misuse the valuable resources of Bridgeport. Without a solid business base, the proposals of the politicians are little more than fantasy costing the citizens of Bridgeport high taxes and struggling services.
On one hand, the paranoia over corruption only serves to cause paralysis and fear. On the other hand, the proposition of false promises are insulting to the integrity and intelligence of the people of Bridgeport.
You and I have an important date with destiny on November 6th. We can choose to retreat or we can continue to build upon the progress that has been recently achieved.
